Miscellaneous Coat of Arms

November 2010

Sir Rauf Langton

These are recorded as his arms but we dont know where he was from.

Another shield attributed to Raulf Langton (the same one we do not know) is this (temp. Edward III: Note: gules an orle argent, a bend sable. Note, the picture should also display a bend sable, but does not. Also ignore the helmet and decoration)

These arms were recorded for John De Langton, temp. Edward III: per pale or and vert. A cross reccrelee (moline, in trick) gules, over all a baston sable.

Clearly related to Ralph Langtons arms above.

Bishop John Langton of St Davids

These are recorded as his arms but we dont know where he was from. One shield strongly suggests Lincolnshire origin, however the other shields use of a chevron and the colour red, points more to Lancashire.

Unknown

From the book, "The art of worcester porcelain". A TEAPOT STAND, dated to about 1760.

WILSON: sable a wolf salient or, on a chief argent three mullets sale. Impalled with LANGTON: per pale argent and gules a cross double pommelled contercharged and overall bendlett sable. LANGTON.

Unknown

Raffe Langton was recorded in Jenyns' ordinary - Edward III roll: gules, an orle argent, a bend sable.
