We know from this source and the list of Mayors that there was a John Langton before John Edwards Langton, as brewer in Maidenhead. Probably two John Langtons. The dates suggest two John Langtons and we know there is a youngest daughter Elizazbeth married in 1819, as well as other children of a John Langton, Mayor, who had other children later, therefore we are confident there were two John Langton Mayors, before John Edward Langton.
