    Here is our Langton DNA database, showing the Y chromosome DNA profiles of those who have taken a test. You will notice that some of the rows in the database match very closely, which means the people who these profiles belong to are related to one and other. Related profiles are grouped by colour. Where results do not match, the respective indivudals are not related, and come from different Langton family origins.

    There are lots of companies who you can have your DNA tested with, and you probably only need to buy the cheapest test on offer in order to ascertain which profile group you belong to, and with it which Langton village your ancestors came from. A more expensive test would tell you more about how closely you are related to other people within your profile group, and more about your deeper ancestry, before your Langton ancestors lived in your Langton village, and took on it's name as a surname.
